Support Africa's Forgotten Ummah

Support Africa's Forgotten Ummah

West Africa faces severe challenges related to water, food, and health, particularly in Gambia, Senegal, Cameroon, and Guinea-Bissau:

  • Water Crisis: Over 50% of Gambia’s population lacks access to clean drinking water. In Senegal, 30% of people do not have reliable water access, and Guinea-Bissau faces a serious water shortage, leading to waterborne diseases.
  • Food Insecurity: These countries are struggling with food insecurity, with rising food prices and limited access to nutritious food affecting families. In Cameroon, food shortages are worsened by conflict and economic instability.
  • Child Health: Malnutrition is rampant across the region. In Gambia and Senegal, significant portions of children are affected by wasting and stunting. In Cameroon, around 204,000 children suffer from wasting, while Guinea-Bissau faces high rates of malnutrition among children.

Human Concern USA is initiating projects to address these critical challenges. Recently, we conducted a rapid needs assessment in Sanuga, a remote village in eastern Cameroon. The community lacks access to safe drinking water, and children are suffering from severe malnutrition.

Our intervention aims to provide immediate relief and long-term solutions through:

  • Clean Water Access: Installing wells and water filtration systems.
  • Nutritional Support: Distributing food supplies and providing nutritional education.
  • Health Services: Offering medical check-ups and establishing health clinics.

Every drop of support matters. Join us in making a difference. Together, with your support let’s create waves of hope and sustainable development to these vulnerable communities.
